Seeking dedicated and experienced Travel Licensed Practical Nurses to join our dynamic team. As a Correctional LPN, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a Correctional Center/Facility located in Limestone County, Texas. Position: Licensed Practical Nurse -LPN
Location: Groesbeck, TX
Schedule: 13-Week Travel Contracts Pay - Starting hourly $38.00 with a Per Diem, calculated on distance traveled
What You'll Do: As a Correctional Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of compassionate care in a correctional center at Limestone County Detention Center. Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Operate pill calls, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and/or procedures
- Attend sick calls with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment.
- Examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries or inmates/residents who become ill or injured; refer inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required by their condition.
- Monitor, as directed, inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations for early releases whenever appropriate
- Regularly evaluate the provision of medical services to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of those services
- Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify Licensed Independent Providers for treatment orders.
- Provide guidance, supervise, and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff
Requirements .
- LPN license in Georgia or "Compact" Multi-License
- BLS
- 1+ years of recent correctional nursing experience preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities - Conduct health screenings, assessments, and triage for incoming inmates.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and document inmate medical histories and vital signs.
- Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
- Educate and counsel inmates on health-related issues and self-care.
Requirements Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Active LPN License in State of Assignment or Compact License
